Innovations like the 4-2-1 exhaust system, cavity pistons, multi-hole injectors, and others lead to this game-changing compression ratio.

Mazda has found a way to reduce “knocking,” abnormal combustion in which the air-fuel mixture ignites prematurely because of exposure to high temperature and pressure.

SKYACTIV BODIES AND CHASSIS

SMART SAFETY: I-ACTIVSENSE

The i-ACTIVSENSE series of safety technology relies on milliwave radars and cameras to help the driver recognize road hazards, and avoid them when possible or minimize the impact when they can’t be avoided.
