The 2022 MX-30 EV subcompact crossover SUV will offer a plug-in-hybrid variant too. Hold on to your seats because this vehicle is going to provide a unique ride. Here are some other things that you should know about the car.
WHAT’S NEW?
The Mazda MX 30 EV is a brand-new model for Mazda as it is the first time the automaker is creating an all-electric vehicle. Although Mazda has not released specific details about trims yet, there will be four trims – Sport, Touring, Grand Touring, Signature, if the standard Mazda method is followed.
As Mazda dips its toes in the electric vehicle waters, it promises effortless driving with zero emissions, engineered with its first-ever e-Skyactiv Technology.

WHAT’S IT LIKE ON THE ROAD?
Although specific details are still unclear, Mazda shared that the MX-30 EV will offer a 35.5-kWh lithium-ion battery pack and a 144-hp front-mounted electric motor that will drive the front wheels. If you purchase the vehicle, you will be paying for the quality of your ride.
Although the fuel-economy estimates have not been released yet, based on similar electric vehicles, it seems that they may carry ratings of approximately 120 and 119 MPGe.
WHAT ABOUT THE INSIDE?
Mazda has gone all out and used natural and sustainable materials to create the MX-30’s cabin. Materials such as cork and breathable fabric upholstery from recycled plastic bottles have been used in the process.
All the major interior controls have been kept standard. The front-seat space seems normal and will easily fit two adults, although the rear seats may be a bit cramped for long rides.
ANY DIGITAL FEATURES?
The vehicle has a digital panel for climate controls and vehicle settings. In addition to that, the dashboard display consists of infotainment features such as the audio system, navigation, and rear-view camera. It will most likely use the latest infotainment system that includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
HAS SAFETY BEEN COMPROMISED?
You can rest assured because Mazda did not compromise the safety of the driver or passengers in any aspect. The MX-30 EV consists of enhanced safety technology, i-Activsense. The vehicle’s injury and damage-mitigating brake technology, Smart Brake Support (SBS), adds a collision prevention function at intersections. It also enables safe driving with a new technology that monitors curbs and lane markings.
OPTING FOR SUSTAINABILITY
Car pollution is a leading cause of global warming. Most vehicles emit carbon dioxide that traps heat in the atmosphere and leads to rising worldwide temperatures.
Switching to fuel-efficient vehicles with low greenhouse gas emissions, such as electric vehicles, can enable us to reduce pollution in the long run. Along with other electric cars available on the market, the Mazda MX-30 is making a debut for the better. The best part is that you can still ride in style while protecting the environment!
