MAZDA TAKES HOME THE CANADIAN CAR AND UTILITY OF THE YEAR 2021 AWARD

At Yorkdale Dufferin Mazda, we are incredibly proud to share that Mazda has taken home an award that helps us help our customers! The Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) handed the 2021 titles for the Canadian Car and Utility of the Year to Mazda and Genesis.
The Mazda 3 was labelled the car of the year finalist thanks to its elegant look and distinct style, but this is not the first award for Mazda. Mazda has an award-winning history from its titles earned in 2020.
HOW WERE THE WINNERS SELECTED?
After considering more than 250 vehicles, the winners were announced during a live broadcast on The Morning Show on Global Television. The test to find the best vehicle persisted for a couple of months by the country’s automotive journalists. While the usual tests are conducted as a big event, things were different this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The evaluations were done with jurors testing vehicles from their homes across Canada.
WHAT’S UNIQUE ABOUT THE MAZDA 3?
The Mazda 3 is offered as both sedan and hatchback, but it’s known for more than that. It comes with a 2.5 L turbocharged engine pushing 250 horsepower and more than 300 lb-ft of torque for the first time.
While dwelling between the identities of mainstream and luxury, this award-winner offers i-Activ All Wheel Drive (AWD), an on-demand system that checks road conditions 200 times every second for a safer ride. Focus less on exterior temperature conditions because the i-Activ AWD uses 27 sensors to do the work for you while remaining fuel-efficient.
