The new CX-50 is set to go on sale in spring 2022. While the company isn't yet sharing any more details about the first-ever Mazda CX-50 hybrid model, it says to collaborate with Toyota for the powertrain. Expect to hear more about it a few months after Mazda releases the nonhybrid versions.

Everything Else You Need to Know About Mazda CX-50 2023

It's worth noting that the 2023 Mazda CX-50 will not replace the CX-5. Instead, it's only a new crossover addition to Mazda's lineup with a more powerful off-road character. The Mazda 2023 CX-50 has the same engines as the CX-5 model.

It will be available with 2.5-litre and turbo 2.5-litre inline-four engine options yet with a hybrid model in the works. Both engines pair with a six-speed automatic gearbox. And as with all other Mazda crossovers, it comes with standard all-wheel drive.

There's only one off-road setting in CX-50 to avoid confusion. But this multi-purpose outdoor adventure will offer the best off-road performance without compromising on-road driving performance.

As with most other Mazda crossovers, you can expect a streamlined and less cluttered interior when you get inside the CX-50.

But to step up the game and capture its tougher personality, the cabin features a new terracotta/black interior theme. It can also seat up to five passengers with improved distribution of space. The CX-50 marks the debut of Mazda's first panoramic sliding roof.

The price for the Mazda CX-50 2023 is not yet available. But a Mazda rep says it will cost a bit more than CX-50, so you can expect the base MSRP to start around $28,000.
